FLORA AND FAUNA

The area of Turkey will lead to 26.2% of forest used, agricultural, 36.3% of the total area.

The Flora of Turkey is considered the most varied and diversified in the Middle East. There are around 9,000 plant species with 850 species, especially in the south plant, which is in the dry summer adapted, for example, evergreen hedges and shrubs, oak trees, olive and carob trees. Among the high levels are wild flowers and ground cover at home.

The steppes are shrubs, pine forests and black pines dominated the dry areas of thistles.In the north, especially on the Black Sea coast, there are extensive hazel nuts, corn and Teeplantagen, in the south more fruit and cotton plantations.

Also, many small game species and wild boars at home while their existence by hunting steadily depleted. An animal found primarily cattle, horses, buffaloes, sheep and goats. The camel stock fell in the last few decades back constantly, they are now a priority for athletic competitions and not more than load carrying bred.

The largest predators, still live in Turkey, among other things, brown bear, wolf, Canis aureus and Eurasian lynx. The last Turkish Leopard should Hakkari in 1979 by a farmer was shot.
