SCENERY


Turkey is divided into seven geographical areas or regions: Region Marmara, Aegean region, Black Sea region, Central Anatolia, Mediterranean region, eastern and southeastern Anatolia. These regions differ greatly with regard to vegetation and weather conditions.

Thrace is located west of the Bosphorus on the European side. On the Thracian high level of the River Meriç the border with Greece. East of the Bosphorus, the Marmara region. The Marmara Sea separates Europe from Asia and the Aegean Sea from the Black Sea. Back to the Mediterranean to cover the Dardanelles on a length of 60 km. The two countries are at Çanakkale tongues with up to 4 km at the widest. On the Bosporus, the million-metropolis Istanbul. The landscape in this region is hilly and bushes and forests. The fertile agricultural land in the east differs a steppe landscape. The region is the economic center of Turkey. The city of Bursa million resort and is famous for its sulphur and thermal sources. The Aegean region is also extensively used for agriculture. The very hilly landscape stretches along the west coast between Çanakkale and Bodrum. In this region there are many ancient buildings from the time of the Greek population, such as Troy, Assos (Behramkale), Pergamon (Bergama), Ephesus (Efes), Priene, Miletus, Didyma and Euromos.


The Black Sea region covers the northern coastal area of Turkey. It is characterized by a mild, wet climate, and its mountainous landscape cover large forests. At the very fertile ground tea, tobacco, corn and hazelnuts grown.
